Please find excellent signals from Micro-Scale and Mafen here. Prototype could be found on standard- and narrow-gauge-railroads.

Please excuse us, but we are so busy that we can no longer update all the English language pages. Please visit the German pages and use a translation machine if necessary. Thank you for your understanding.

RhB - Main-/Warning-Signals
Swiss main-signals for narrow gauge railroads, e.g. RhB, FO, MGB

We offer signals from two different manufacturers:

1st - Micro-Scale: The signals are made from brass and need a measure of 4,0 x 10,5 mm for installation. A depth of 27,5 mm is needed for the technical installation. To be used with 12 volts DC (from a separate transformer – not included). Our signals are build by Micro-Scale and are ready wired. You can do the lightning, as prototype can do, because every LED is wired separately. Even the resistor is integrated. These items are going to be sold out. We still have some items in stock. Please ask for availability.

2nd - Mafen: The signals are made from metal and need a measure of 4,3 x 9,6 mm for installation. A depth of 1 - 2 mm only is needed for the technical installation. To be used with 16 volts DC (from a separate transformer – not included). Our signals are build by Mafen and are ready wired. You can do the lightning, as prototype can do, because every LED is wired separately. Resistor and diode are integrated.

Prototype:Today, main and warning signals are mostly build with lamps. They have a different number of lightning bulbs but always the same shape: a black board with cut edges and a white border. Usually two up to five lamps mounted together.
Main signals control incoming and going traffic at a station and on the main-line.
They are mostly used to show the following terms:
1. Red (2nd lightning from top) = Stop
2. Green (top lightning) = Go
3. Green-Orange (top and lowest lightning) = Go slow (usually 40 km/h)
4. Red (lowest lightning) = Emergency Stop (if lightning of the signal is not okay)
5. Green-Green = Go slow, type 3, speed as announced
6. Green-Green-Green = Go slow, type 5, speed as announcedSeitenanfang

Prototype: The warning signal shows the terms of the following main signal. Normally there are four lightning bulbs, two green and two orange ones, which cover the signal board unsymmetrical.
A warning signal is a preinformation only. It is placed several meters apart of the main signal, to give the train enough time, to stop in front of the main signal.
They are mostly used to show the following terms:
1. Orange-Orange (both lightnings on top) = await Stop on main signal
2. Green-Green (bottom left, middle right) = await Go on main signal
3. Green-Orange (bottom left, top right) = await Go slow on main signal (usually 40 km/h)
4. Green-Green-Orange (bottom left, middle right, top left) = await Go slow, type 3 or 5, speed as announced on main signalSeitenanfang

Prototype: Often main and warning signals are mounted at the same pole. The warning signal show the terms of the following main signal of course, not the term of the mounted signal. Most of the Swiss companies use these or only little different types of signals, to secure their traffic.Seitenanfang

Prototype: In larger stations the signals are put to the floor and help the locodriver to manouvre his train through the trackwork.
It has three lights to show different signals:
two lamps above each other > Go
two lamps in diagonal direction > Go slowly
two lamps in horizontal direction > Stop.
